Yesterday our dance community lost a very special woman. Peggy Hickey has originated choreo for numerous musicals, her most recent being Anastasia on Broadway. She has worked all over the world, but closest to CSDA at the Moonlight Amphitheater in Vista.
Here are a few of her original works:
Anastasia, A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder (Tony winner for “Best Musical”) (Broadway), My Fair Lady (Lincoln Center), Cinderella (Little Orchestra Society of New York at Lincoln Center), The Most Happy Fella (star. Paul Sorvino), Lucky to Be Me, The Music of Leonard Bernstein, The Music Man (Paper Mill Playhouse - star. Shirley Jones, Patrick Cassidy), Gigi, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (REPRISE LA), Romy & Michele’s High School Reunion (5th Avenue Theatre Seattle - World Premiere), A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder (National Tour).
Our hearts go out to Peggy, her family and her friends. Thank you for gifting our theater family with your beautiful work. Your legacy will live on through all the dancers you’ve inspired! 🤍
