Born and raised in sunny Southern California, Kayla has been competitively dancing since the young age of 5 years old. She grew up training in multiple styles of dance including Jazz, Lyrical, Ballet, and Musical Theater. Her dancing continued to the collegiate level where she was a part of the nationally ranked dance team at California State University Fullerton and contributed to four of the many national first-place titles. Kayla graduated from Cal State Fullerton with a bachelors in Public Relations in the Communications field and is currently pursuing her education at Grand Canyon University for a Masters in Education.
Kayla’s professional dance career includes being featured as a backup dancer in Tori Blakes’s “Into U” music video, performing as a special guest at the 31st Annual Orange County Heart Walk and Disney Half Marathon and has been cast at the world-renowned Candlelight Pavilion productions of Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat and Footloose. She has traveled the world with Kids Artistic Revue and Rainbow Dance Competition assisting Directors, conducting award ceremonies, managing the merchandise team, and judging competitions. She was fortunate enough to work at the 2019 Industry Dance Awards, marked as the “Most prestigious dance event of the year” to help raise funds for Dancers Against Cancer.
She started as a dance instructor in 2012 at Centre Stage Dance Academy and is forever grateful for all the experiences it has provided. She quickly became a competition team choreographer and has won awards for choreography, entertainment, student scholarships, and top-scoring routines. CSDA has allowed Kayla to pursue her love of dance and continues to fill her heart with so much joy. She is so thankful to be a part of such an amazing staff and loves calling CSDA her home!
