BALLET is offered from pre-ballet through advanced levels. Ballet training provides the foundation for all other forms of dance. Ballet students at CSDA will gain grace, posture, confidence, and an appreciation for the most challenging and beautiful form of dance.
JAZZ focuses on proper technique & artistry at each level. Students learn how to stretch and strengthen the muscles; turn, kick, and leap across the floor combinations; and different styles and techniques through a center floor combination. Students enrolled in jazz are STRONGLY encouraged to take ballet.
HIP HOP is all about fun!! CSDA students will learn the latest dance styles with a fusion of jazz, funk and street dancing in this class. Classes include a warm-up and a fast-paced routine. Advancement in this class will be at the teacher discretion.
LYRICAL/CONTEMPORARY Jazz is the integration of jazz, ballet, modern and contemporary dance with a focus on self-expression. This class is designed to let the dancer tell a story through a combination of music, lyrics and choreography. Lyrical classes are offered to students who have shown an advanced level of technical mastery. We recommend enrollment in at least 1 ballet and jazz class.
The “Toddlers/Tots” program at Centre Stage Dance Academy is designed to help the youngest dancer develop basic dance skills all while having fun! Classes will be taught in a supportive and safe environment and will ensure each dancer is developing a love and appreciation for dance that lasts a lifetime.
Our Broadway dance classes are for the dancer who loves to sing, dance, and act. This class is designed for “first timers” as well as the more advanced dancer. This class features a jazz warm-up, across the floor combinations, and center floor combination to both classic and contemporary musical theatre songs. Small musical numbers incorporating singing, dancing and expression will be taught and performed throughout the class sessions.
Acro focuses on fundamental acrobatic technique; flexibility, balance, strength, muscle control, discipline & concentration. Students will learn such things as handstands, chin stands, elbow stands, cartwheels, back bends, walkovers, balance, & contortion tricks.
TAP focuses on the dancer using their feet as the instrument. Rhythm and syncopation, “hoofing” it, classical Broadway styles, we teach it all! Training includes a warm-up, across the floor and center combinations focusing on the concept of ear training and integrating both visual and auditory components.
This class teaches young students beginning/intermediate and advanced vocal exercises, performance technique, basic movement and gives numerous performance opportunities.
